President's Message May 2013

Dear Members,

As I write the May update, it is a beautiful sunny spring day. Love it!!! I feel like I should be home doing some spring cleaning or playing outside.
This past weekend we held our APW education day “Today’s Mobile Office: Don’t be left out!”. If you were unable to attend, you missed an excellent event. We had wonderful speakers, learned about 365, Cloud and what’s new at Microsoft, and some good tips for our cell phones (i.e. Cozi.com, groupme and keyring). Our breakfast was delicious, networking (met new Admins from Cat, our CIA sister chapter), and everyone won a door prize.
Our next meeting will be May 7 regarding “Juggling Multiple Priorities”. As a busy Admin, wife, mom, and friend, this is something I can always use some help with. How about you? Don’t forget to RSVP by May 3 to Mary Pyatt. (See attached flyer for details)
Also, within the next few weeks, nominations for the 2013-2014 Chapter Board will be sent out. If you are interested in a Board position, please do not hesitate to contact me.

President's Message April 2013

Dear Members,

SPRINGTIME!!!!  It is near (I hope).  I know that I am ready to see the grass turn green (ask me in May about grass when I have to start mowing) and flowers bloom.  Two exciting Tri-County events in April, our Chapter meeting on April 2nd (see attached flyer) and mark your calendars:  Save the Date, April 20, 9am – 1:00 pm for an exciting APW education day (more details soon).

In case you missed our March meeting, it was great (Deanna did an awesome job presenting), enjoyed learning more about Taking Minutes and our interactive group discussion on this topic.  I am attaching Deanna’s power point presentation and Luann Morelock’s email with her templates for agenda/minutes plus basic instructions on her process for minutes and how to use the templates.

You will find attached our May Chapter flyer as well.   Check out the reminders below for Box Tops, etc.

Our Tri-County year is flying by fast.  I hope to see all of you at our April meeting.   Also,  within the next few weeks, we will be seeking Members to step up to the Board and committees for 2013-2014.  So please be thinking about spreading your wings, taking on new challenges and continued professional growth!!!

I wish each of you have a Blessed Easter!

Messages from President Rebecca Heisler - November 2012

Fall… a beautiful time of the year with the leaves changing, basketball season starting, soup and Apple cider time!!! As we all start gearing up for the Holidays, I would like to share some information and dates with you.

Our October webinar was a great success in many ways. Our Chapter raised about $400, 33 people registered for live webinar and 13 for the recorded webinar. Kudos to all involved to make this happen (Deb Steveson, Diana Hampton, Mary Pyatt, Donna Greer)!!!!! October was also our membership drive. We had 4 guests. Remember, you do not have to wait for a membership drive to invite guests. Invite someone for our November meeting. “ Be the ONE” to bring our next Tri-County member!

Reminders:

 · Please promote the sale of our Bergner Community Day Booklets by either purchasing a booklet for yourself, selling one to a friend, family member, co-worker or neighbor. If you were not at the October meeting, please contact me, Judy Zimmerman, via e-mail: judy.l.zimmerman@osfhealthcare.org or by phone @655-2057 to request booklets. The booklets are $5.00 and our chapter retains the full $5.00. The booklets will still be available at our November meeting as Community Days are November 9 & 10.
· The November meeting is also the last opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for the quilt. The chances are $1.00 each or
6@$5.00. The drawing will be held at the November meeting.
· Bring your “Box Tops” and “Dress for Success” donations!!

Information: We (TC) entered the Avery award program last year. For each chapter that didn't win the 'big' prize, a $5.00 donation was sent to IAAP. Here is the notification from Avery (letter attached):
